NorCal SBDC's "Food Inc" Food Business Incubator is a huge success opening night
FoodINC, an incubator created by Norcal SBDC's Restaurant Program was launched to help entrepreneurs finalize new food products, launch a cottage or catering food business and invent new ways to market and distribute their products. After 6 weeks of courses that included classroom instruction and kitchen labs, eleven entrepreneurs graduated at a launch party on the rooftop terrace of the Kaiser Center in Downtown, Oakland, and received certificates from CalOSBA Director Tara Lynn Gray.

Imagining a new business model that would allow customers a direct connection, they started Ocean2Table. Determined to change the status quo, they went door-to-door to seek potential clients and soon generated a list of regular clients. They sought SBDC's guidance with business management, projection, and overall growth. Working with their SBDC advisor allowed Ian and Charlie to focus their time on their clients while strengthening their operations and financial foundations. In 2021, SBDC helped Ocean2Table hire 7 new part-time and full-time employees and obtain an SBA EIDL loan to continue expanding their operation

In partnership with PPE Unite and Norcal SBDC Affiliate, GlobalSF secured 500,000 PPEs for the city of San Francisco. On day one of distribution, they were able to provide 130 businesses with more than 80,000 PPEs in San Franciso's Chinatown within 3 hours. 255 businesses in total were able to take advantage of the giveaway.
