Like many women, Whitney Leggins struggled to find childcare during the pandemic causing her to look for an alternative to her 8-5 job. She signed up for live MELP workshops facilitated by MS-SBDC counselors where she learned the basics of how to start her own business. Whitney completed the 4 week program and successfully launched her business Coachlada, LLC after graduation.

Chris Jellema's 3D printing business, 3D Miniz is taking off fast! Athletic departments, greek organizations and the general public are all interested in his mini life-like replicas of people. Chris became interested in ways to memorialize people in a more dynamic way that just a flat image. He utilized the Mississippi SBDC to find resources and draw up plans to start his business. Soon he was partnered with a printing company and 3D artists that have brought his vision to reality.

Navy Veteran Alexis Williams' Afrowaiian" fashion company Aloha Glamour shifted to make masks during the pandemic. The brightly colored masks were a huge success! The company doubled it's sales and has since expanded include a holiday pop-up shop.
